Before you mod your phone, you need to obtain a few things. DON'T INSTALL ANYTHING YET. We will do that after. Here are the most common items you will need:
Data Cable. A USB Cable to connect the phone to the PC. $12 at Radio Shack.
They're even cheaper on eBay. All you need is a 5 pin Mini-B to type A USB adapter.
Motorola PST . This program is used to flash/flex the phone, and is only available in authorized Motorola Service Centers. However, if you want to "download Motorola PST," then you might want to search for Google for that... ;) Its a tough find, but there are sites that link to it. We don't, because its illegal.
P2K Manager. The program you will use to retrieve seems from your phone to edit, and to copy files to and from your phone.
XVI32 Seem Editor . This is the program we edit seems with. More on what seems are later.
Flash/Flex File. You will also need a flash/flex file to update your phones software/firmware, but we will get to that later. For now, just be aware we'll be getting one soon.
For now, download all the files, but DON'T INSTALL ANYTHING YET. Once you have obtained all the needed files, go ahead and check out the Get Connected section for the next step.
